WHEN TO BRING IN SUPPORT

Find your direction.
Regain your confidence.

Growth is adding systems, people, and complexity. A major technology decision feels too big. A software project has stalled, or confidence in your team or vendors has slipped.

You may also be asking where AI belongs, how to adopt it responsibly, or how to turn the time it saves into useful work.

I help you understand what's happening, agree on what matters, and bring the people and resources together to move forward.

AI TRANSFORMATION + HUMAN TRANSFORMATION

AI expands what's possible.
People give it purpose.

My work connects two kinds of growth: changing how work gets done, and helping people become more self-aware, confident, and capable of leading what comes next.

AI SUPPORTS HUMAN GROWTH

More room to learn, create, and connect.

AI can take on repetitive work, make information easier to use, and help people explore ideas. That opens room for deeper learning, better conversations, creative work, and stronger relationships.

HUMAN GROWTH SHAPES AI

Better judgment. More purposeful use.

People bring purpose, judgment, and care to those possibilities. As leaders and teams build confidence, trust, and adaptability, they can choose better uses for AI, question its outputs, and improve how it serves the business.

The aim is a reinforcing cycle: AI opens new possibilities for people; their growth reveals better ways to use AI. We look for progress in both business results and human contribution.

THREE WAYS TO MOVE FORWARD

Your next challenge.
The right support.

Make technology work for your business, turn AI into business value, or develop stronger leaders. We shape the engagement around the outcomes you need.I focus on companies with $20M–$200M in annual revenue.

THE 4D PROCESS

Get the strategy right.
Then make it happen.

Develop the technology and the people together, with a shared roadmap across systems, AI, and leadership. For fractional engagements, I typically target completing discovery and agreeing on the roadmap in the first month.

  1. 01

    Discover

Listen to leaders, teams, and relevant partners. What's working? What's frustrating? What needs to change for the next year to feel successful?

  2. 02

    Define

Synthesize the findings into a clear picture of the challenges, opportunities, and recommended initiatives.

  3. 03

    Decide

Work with your leadership team to agree on priorities, sequence, and resources. Create a roadmap you can act on together.

  4. 04

    Deliver

Guide execution, bring in the right expertise, and support your leaders. Review progress regularly and adapt as priorities change.

CLIENT STORIES

Systems. Teams. Leaders.
Progress in practice.

Three examples of how technology leadership and people development come together in my work.

ECOMMERCE & LOGISTICS

Rebuilding the team and the direction

A $400M business was left without clear technology leadership after an abrupt engineering leader departure.

Within six months, I worked with executives to establish technology and AI roadmaps, assemble a development team, hire an IT manager, and bring in security, UX, and QA partners.

What changed: The business had a team, a shared direction, and stronger IT leadership to support its growth.

ALARM & SECURITY SERVICES

Recovering a platform and launching a portal

An established security company needed help after its software developer abandoned a project.

I helped bring the platform back to life, then worked with a nearshore development team and internal operations to build and launch a customer portal integrated with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and legacy systems.

What changed: The business regained a working platform and launched a customer portal integrated with its existing systems.

REAL ESTATE SERVICES

Helping a technology leader grow into an executive

A long-serving technology director at a business acquiring multiple service companies was struggling to contribute as a trusted executive.

Through weekly coaching for about a year, I helped him develop a business perspective and strengthen his leadership contribution.

What changed: The business gained a more strategic technology leader who could help it reach its next stage.

AI + HUMAN TRANSFORMATION IN PRACTICE

The AI-Powered
Contribution Program

A FOCUSED PILOT FOR YOUR TEAM

AI creates capacity.
People turn it into value.

When routine work takes less time, what should people do with the capacity they gain?

This program brings AI adoption, strengths-informed coaching, and organizational development into one engagement. We identify where AI can improve work, help people redirect recovered time toward work that matters, and develop the confidence and judgment to use new capabilities well.

For example, AI might help prepare a customer meeting; coaching helps the person ask better questions, listen more deeply, and act on what they learn. Those insights can then improve the next AI-supported workflow.

The aim: clearer contribution, stronger engagement, and measurable business value. We agree on how to assess progress with the people responsible for the work.

Time saved is the beginning.
Meaningful contribution is the goal.

One engagement option within the broader practice. Pilot scope and timing are agreed around your team's needs.

AI transformation.
Human transformation.
One connected practice.

How the two paths came together

My career took me from building technology infrastructure across six Asia-Pacific countries to earning an MBA at Thunderbird and building an Inc. 5000 technology advisory firm. The business grew across staffing, software development, and fractional CTO/CIO services.

The turning point came when a fractional client asked me to spend half my time coaching its technology leader. Watching him develop his business perspective and executive contribution showed me how much I enjoyed helping people grow.

That experience led me to train at UC Berkeley's Executive Coaching Institute. Over the following decade, I built a coaching practice alongside my technology work.

Today, I see AI transformation and human transformation as mutually reinforcing. AI can change how work gets done and open new possibilities. People need the self-awareness, judgment, and confidence to choose what matters and act on it. Their growth, in turn, helps them use technology with greater purpose. Bringing those two transformations together is the focus of my work.

The work I do today

I serve as a fractional CTO/CIO, coach executives through the Center for Creative Leadership, and facilitate a technology leaders' peer group at REF. I am an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), with more than 10 years of coaching experience.

My technology work spans more than 50 organizations, from growing startups to regulated, multisite healthcare businesses. I have helped dozens of clients build and rescue compliant, multimillion-dollar customer-facing software. I also co-founded and serve as CTO of an addiction-treatment EMR business, bringing a builder's and entrepreneur's perspective to the work.

The people and resources to deliver

Building a technology staffing business taught me how to assemble teams across contract, direct hire, and executive search. I draw on an extensive local and global network across IT, software engineering, ERP, security, UX, and QA, combining internal, contract, onshore, nearshore, and offshore resources as the work requires.

My enterprise delivery and transformation experience is supported by more than 15 years of prior PMP certification. I bring structure to the work while helping the leaders and teams doing it develop their own capability.

STARTING THE CONVERSATION

A few useful
questions.

What do you mean by human transformation?

Growing in self-awareness, confidence, judgment, and the ability to relate to and lead others. Coaching creates space to question assumptions, strengthen relationships, and make more intentional choices. That work has value on its own and also helps people navigate the changes AI brings.

Do I need all three types of support?

No. Start with the challenge that matters most. An engagement can focus on technology leadership, AI adoption, or executive coaching, with organizational development and change support woven in where useful.

What happens in the first month?

For fractional engagements, I typically target discovery interviews, a synthesis of the findings, and an agreed technology, people, and AI roadmap within the first month. Scope and timing depend on the situation.

How long do engagements usually last?

My fractional CTO/CIO engagements typically run six to eighteen months. We agree on the scope, cadence, and outcomes together. Coaching and focused AI projects can have their own structure; the Contribution Program can be scoped as a shorter pilot.

Can you work with our existing technology leader?

Yes. I can work alongside internal leaders, support their development through coaching, and help coordinate your existing teams and vendors with specialist partners where needed.

Where does the Contribution Program fit?

It is one focused AI engagement. We look at how AI changes work, the capacity it releases, and how people's strengths and interests can support more valuable contribution. Your team can be starting with AI or already using it extensively.
